Kenya Mission - Shiloh has an ongoing project with the people of Kenya.  Our most recent trip to Kenya was January 2006.  For pictures and more details, please see our Kenya Mission  page.

Shiloh Opportunity Circle, a social and mission group, is open to all women.  We meet once a month, usually on a Monday morning through lunch time.  Guest speakers and special programs will be announced.  Several times a year, we sponsor social activities such as picnics where families are invited.  SOC is very involved in many of the mission projects you can read about on this page.  For details on upcoming SOC events, check our Calendar.

Dakota Association Partnership - We in the Penn Central Conference of the United Church of Christ are partners with the Dakota Association, which is made up of Lakota American Indian Churches.  Mutual activities have included work camps, selling jewelry made by individuals in the Dakota Association, collecting shoes  and providing school kits for Lakota children.  Each November, Shiloh members donate gifts so the Lakota Churches can give a Christmas gift to each person who attends their Christmas Eve worship service.

South Dakota Reservations Tour - In July of 2003, Dave and Pat Krum, and Grace Reinaker joined others from Penn Central Conference to visit our partner churches on the Standing Rock and Cheyenne River Reservations.  In addition, they visited pioneer and native American museums, the Habitat for Humanity Community, and several other sites.  They are glad to speak to anyone about the Lakota people.

CROP Walk
- Is held in Danville each October.    Walkers, sponsors and others helped with this six-mile walk, raising  funds for hungry people locally and around the world.

New Windsor Bus Trip- Each September,, a busload of Shiloh members travel to the Brethren Service Center in New Windsor, Maryland for a work day at this organization which is affiliated with Church World Service. They inspect and pack craft items for SERRV which helps people in developing countires start small businesses and provides a fair market for their products.

Bethany Children's Home - Founded in 1863, Bethany Children's Home is a non-profit residential home for children related to the United Church of Christ and located in Womelsdorf, PA.  We have provided gifts for the children, and  Bethany's  singing group has visited Shiloh to share their musical gifts with us.

Heifer Project International -  Each year at vacation Bible school, the children have a friendly competition to see which class can contribute most  to the Heifer Project, through nightly offerings.  Through this organization,  families in many countries receive livestock to provide much needed milk, eggs or meat.  The families then donate offspring, to continue the cycle of giving.

Can you share some  fun with an inner-city child this summer?    If so, you might want to find out more about the Fresh Air Fund, an independent, not-for-profit agency which has been providing free summer vacations to New York City children since 1877.  Many families in the Danville area have participated, including some Shiloh members.   For details, visit www.freshair.org or call the Deckers at 275-7545.

Postage Stamps for Bethel -  Members bring in envelopes or envelope corners with used  stamps.  Church volunteers then trim them and send them to the Bethel Institute in Germany, a home for handicapped children. The children soak off the stamps. These stamps are sold all over the world to collectors. Over the last year, stamps collected at Shiloh have ranged from 600 to 1700 per month.
